TATTOO REMOVAL

WHAT TATTOO REMOVAL DOES

We use different wavelengths of laser light to treat different colors of ink in your tattoo. As the light energy is directed into your skin, it is selectively absorbed by the tattoo ink particles trapped in the dermis of your skin. When the ink particles absorb this energy, they instantly shatter into tiny fragments. In just a few laser sessions, your skin can be ink-free.

HOW TO PREPARE

To receive this treatment it is important that you discontinue: antibiotics, topical prescriptions, retinols 2 weeks prior; tanning, self-tanners and sun exposure 4-6 weeks prior. All tattoo removal appointments are scheduled as a consultation with possible treatment. This treatment cannot be performed on pregnant or nursing patients.

WHAT TO EXPECT

We do offer numbing cream for an additional charge, but most patients opt out as the sensation is manageable. Depending on the size, color, and patient's skin type most tattoos can be treated in less than 5 minutes. Your provider will cover the treated area with a bandage. Avoid washing the area or participating in physical activity for the next 48 hours. Some patients may blister – this is normal, simply apply Aquaphor and ice area until blistering subsides. Treatments should be scheduled 6 to 8 weeks apart.

POST CARE NOTES

  • Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for 2-4 weeks following treatment.
  • Apply a broad spectrum sunscreen of at least SPF 30 for several days after treatment.
  • Avoid skin irritants such as retinoids, alpha-hydroxy acids, beta-hydroxy acids and benzoyl peroxide until the skin is fully healed and all crusting has resolved. days after treatment.
  • Waxing and/or use of chemical depilatories must be avoided for 1 to 2 weeks after

treatment.

  • Avoid swimming pools and hot tubs for 1 week post treatment.

CLEAR + BRILLIANT

WHAT CLEAR + BRILLIANT DOES

Sun exposure, stress and other negative factors wear down your skin each day. The earlier you take action, the better your chances of slowing signs of aging. Clear + Brilliant visibly illuminates your skin tone and reduces the appearance of pores and imperfections with minimal downtime to discomfort.

HOW TO PREPARE

Discontinue use of retinoids and prescription topicals 14 days prior to your treatment. Discontinue antibiotics 14 days prior and avoid sun exposure 30 days prior to each treatment.

WHAT TO EXPECT

A numbing topical is applied prior to treatment to allow for a near-painless experience. You will experience mild redness and a residual heat sensation for up to several hours post treatment. Within 24 hours new skin will start to form within. This process usually takes anywhere from 4-7 days. During this time, exfoliate to reveal the repaired skin tissue and apply moisturizers and sunscreen frequently.

POST CARE NOTES

  • Post-treatment cooling masks or handheld fans may be used to alleviate discomfort.
  • Over-the-counter itch and pain relievers may be used if necessary (i.e. Benadryl, Claritin,

Tylenol, etc.)

  • Avoid sun exposure and self-tanning products for at least 2 weeks after treatment. Sun exposure can increase the risk of unwanted pigmentation
  • Apply sunscreen of at least 30 SPF, daily. Skin will be more sun sensitive following treatment.
  • Avoid treatments such as injections fillers, chemical peels or laser treatment for at least 2 weeks after treatment, or until completely healed. Avoid systemic steroids throughout the course of treatment.

This treatment cannot be performed on pregnant or breast-feeding patients. IPL can only treat fair to medium skin types.

WHAT TO EXPECT

You will experience mild discomfort and might feel a snapping when the laser pulses on your skin. Afterward, you’ll experience mild redness and residual heat sensation up to several hours post treatment. You will start to see brown spots come to the surface in the next few days called "peppering". Those spots will flake off to reveal repaired skin.

POST CARE NOTES

LASER GENESIS

WHAT DOES LASER GENESIS DO?

Laser Genesis is a laser treatment that can help improve the appearance of the skin. It is a non-invasive treatment that uses micro-pulses of laser energy to activate collagen remodeling to give your skin a smooth, radiant complexion. Laser Genesis can address visible imperfections such as sun damage, fine lines and wrinkles, redness, and scarring. It is often used to improve the look of rosacea.

HOW TO PREPARE

Stop using retinoids and prescription topicals 14 days prior to your appointment. Antibiotics should be discontinued 14 days beforehand, as well as any significant sun exposure 30 days prior to each session.

WHAT TO EXPECT

You may feel a warming sensation on your skin. There may be some mild redness and next-to-no residual heat. Many patients say this treatment is similar to a relaxing facial but with way more benefits!

  • For one week after your treatment, avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanners.
  • You should avoid retinoids, alpha-hydroxy acids, beta-hydroxy acids, and benzoyl peroxide for 3-7 days after treatment.
  • Following treatment, you should avoid waxing and using chemical depilatories for a week or so. If there is no skin irritation, you can shave 24-48 hours after the treatment.
  • You should avoid vigorous exercise and excessive heat sources such as Jacuzzis, saunas, and steam baths if you have itchy skin.

VEIN THERAPY

WHAT VEIN THERAPY DOES

The laser we use to treat vein abnormalities delivers pulses of light energy which cause the blood within the vein to coagulate, eventually destroying the vessel so it can be reabsorbed by your body.

HOW TO PREPARE

To receive this treatment it is important that you discontinue antibiotics, topical prescriptions, and retinol 2 weeks prior and discontinue tanning, self-tanners, and any direct exposure to sun 4-6 weeks prior.

WHAT TO EXPECT

This procedure can remove unsightly veins from all parts of the body. Small, facial veins (or telangiectasia) can be treated quickly without bruising or complication. Spider veins and large, blue leg veins can also be treated with excellent results. Knotty varicose veins are not good candidates for this treatment. Most patients experience a stinging sensation as the pulses of energy are delivered through the hand piece.

POST CARE NOTES

  • Compression stockings (30-40 mm Hg pressure) are required to maintain optimal results. Wear them immediately following treatment for up to 2 weeks after.
  • Avoid heat and exercising for 48 hours post-treatment.
  • Hot tubs and saunas should be avoided for 2 weeks following treatment to avoid venous dilation.
  • Avoid sun exposure for 1 week following treatment and continue to apply SPF 30 or above daily.
