HALOTHERAPY

Rejuvenate yourself and your breathable organs (lungs and skin) by simply sitting and breathing in our salt room. Our 30- to 60-minute sessions in our Halotherapy room uses aerosolized pharmaceutical-grade salt to help alleviate symptoms of asthma, bronchitis, allergies, skin diseases, upper respiratory disorders, eczema, and mental lethargy, stress and depression. When you breathe in salty ocean air or salt vapors in a salt therapy room, molecules enter the airways of your lungs to break down and release negative ions. The negative ions stimulate the linings of your airways, clearing mucous while boosting your immune response to pathogens. When the negative ions reach your bloodstream, they are said to produce biochemical reactions that boost serotonin levels. And, the airborne salt reacts with the skin to resolve a variety of skin conditions.

WHAT IS HALO THERAPY?

Taking wellness to another level, halotherapy—a.k.a. salt therapy—remains a top spa trend. (Halo

is Greek for salt.) Salt therapy is similar to spending time in the salty sea air, which offers many more benefits than just relaxation on the beach. Halotherapy is an alternative treatment that involves breathing salty air. Some claim that it can treat respiratory conditions, such as asthma, chronic bronchitis, and allergies. Others suggest it can also: eases smoking-related symptoms, such as a cough, shortness of breath, and wheezing, treat depression and anxiety, cure some skin conditions, such aspsoriasis, eczema, and acne.

The origins of halotherapy date back to the medieval era. But researchers only recently started studying its potential benefits.

WHAT ARE NEGITIVE IONS?

The negatively charged ions in salt improve our health and mood. Inhaling particles may reduce inflammation and mucus in the lungs, improving respiratory conditions such as asthma, allergies, bronchitis, sinus congestion and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). Scientific studies show that people with asthma and other ailments breath easier after halotherapy. The calming and detoxifying effects of halotherapy can support the immune, nervous and lymphatic systems. Additional benefits are reduced stress and headaches, increased energy, and better sleep patterns. Salt ions purify the air and may increase lung capacity and reduce physical ailments for adults, children and athletes. Treatments are recommended to help keep the body healthy during flu or allergy seasons.
