MICRONEEDLING AND PRP

Microneedling with PRP is a cosmetic treatment that stimulates collagen production by rolling fine needles over the skin and applying platelets, which are one of the components of blood.

PRP therapy has shown great promise as a facial rejuvenation procedure. Popularly referred to as the vampire facial, the PRP is applied onto the skin (in the setting of microneedling) or injected into your skin at a specific depth based on your doctor’s recommendation. Eventually, the PRP will be absorbed into your skin which should help reduce the recovery time following microneedling.

PRP contains proteins, including growth factors and cytokines. These proteins help skin tissue repair itself.

First, a practitioner will use a microneedling tool to prick the skin, making tiny holes in the skin’s surface. They will then apply PRP to these tiny holes to encourage collagen production and cell reproduction.

BENEFITS OF MICRONEEDING AND PRP

Benefits of the PRP therapy include increased collagen production, decrease acne and surgical scars, sun damage, large pores, reduced fine lines and wrinkles, firmer skin, and improved moisture retention. Besides, you should notice enhanced skin tone and texture as the old skin cells make way for the newer, healthier ones. Overall, the skin should experience mind-blowing improvement in appearance following the PRP application.

HOW TO PREPARE

To prepare for the treatment, you will need to avoid excessive and unprotected exposure to the sun. You will additionally need to drink lots of water days before the treatment. Finally, you will need to show up to the appointment with a bare face. Specifically, avoid wearing a moisturizer or makeup just before going in for your appointment.

WHAT TO EXPECT

A numbing topical is applied prior to treatment to allow for a near-painless experience. While receiving treatment you may feel pressure and a vibrating sensation. Immediately after treatment you will feel like you have a moderate to severe sunburn and your skin may feel warm and tighter than usual.
Some patients report bruises and inflammation following the procedure with overall redness in the appearance of the treatment area.

Have you noticed more hair left behind in your brush or an increase in hair falling out when shampooing? Everyone sheds hair, but if you are losing an unusual amount of hair, you could be struggling with hair loss.

PRP is a solution that is created by taking a sample of blood. The blood contains cells known as growth factors, which have the ability to rapidly heal the body. When these cells are concentrated into a dense formula (platelet-rich plasma), they can be injected into the scalp to heal hair follicles and encourage natural hair growth. Using PRP therapy for hair growth is an entirely natural solution for hair loss, since the PRP is derived from your own blood. Plus, this treatment involves practically no downtime, thanks to the healing benefits of PRP.

Candidates for PRP scalp injections include people who have experienced hair loss due to the following factors:

Stress and anxiety, pregnancy, menopause, or aging

.

BENEFITS OF PRP HAIR INJECTIONS

The results from PRP will develop gradually in the months following your treatment. As PRP stimulates growth in the treated area, you can expect to see results as early as two or three months after treatment. These results will continue to improve, showing dramatic improvements within a year of treatment. For best results, we recommend a series of PRP therapy treatments. During your consultation, we’ll discuss your cosmetic goals in order to determine the number of PRP treatments that will be best for you.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The PRP treatment begins with collecting a small sample of blood. The blood sample will then be placed into a machine that separates the beneficial blood platelets from the rest of the ingredients, creating PRP. Then, PRP will be injected into various areas of the scalp. For this step, we can use a variety of anesthetic techniques to minimize any pain or discomfort. After PRP for hair, you may experience some swelling, discomfort, or tenderness in the treatment area. However, these side effects typically fade within a few days.

PRP FACIAL INJECTION

PRP (platelet-rich plasma) facial injections is a “natural filler” treatment to give more of a youthful appearance. The patient is injected with a concentration of platelets from their own blood to promote the production of collagen and elastin. PRP facial injections stimulates new collagen and enhances regrowth of new healthy skin. We love using PRP injections in places like smile lines and under the eyes to diminish dark circles. The growth factors and platelets in PRP can help repair the tissues around your eyes, leading to a smooth and renewed appearance.

BENEFITS OF PRP FACIAL INJECTIONS

1. PRP facial injections is one of the lowest risk treatments because the process involves injecting a substance sourced from your own body. Mild bruising, swelling or redness can occur at the injection site but usually resolves quickly.

2. PRP improves the skin’s health and regeneration so that dead skin cells are removed faster, giving you smoother skin.

3. When PRP is injected, it repairs the collagen and elastin layer so that the skin regains elasticity. One of our favorite places to inject PRP is the under-eye. PRP allows the skin in the under-eye region to plump up and refill the hollows under the eyes.
