CHEMICAL PEEL

Chemical peel is a facial treatment that will significantly improve the tone and texture of your skin. It works by removing the damaged outer layers of your skin to reveal healthy and vibrant skin beneath. PCA PEEL

This peel will even skin tone and provide more exfoliation for oilier, thicker, and more resilient skin types. It is excellent for those with active or cystic acne, asphyxiated skin (dry on the surface, oily underneath), sun-damaged skin, or those who require deeper treatment

PCA ENZYMATIC PEEL

This peel combines enzymatic and alpha hydroxy acid with antioxidant action and anti-inflammatory benefits, aiming to exfoliate, brighten, and strengthen skin

PRE & POST CARE

PRE CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Avoid using any alpha hydroxy acid products (such as glycol or lactic acid) or salicylic acid products for 72 hours before your peel

  • If you use Accutane, discontinue for a year prior to the chemical peel

  • Avoid retinol, tretinoin cream (Retin-A), waxing, electrolysis, masks, scrubs or exfoliants, tweezing, injections, or microdermabrasion for 1 week prior to treatment

  • Do not shave face the day of the peel

  • If you have open lesions, active cold sores, facial dermatitis or facial irruption you are not a good candidate for the peel till after it has completely healed

  • The following list of procedures should not be performed on the treatment area 10-14 days before or after treatment: Waxing or Depilatories (ex: nair, etc.), fillers or botox/dysport, laser treatments of any kind, tanning of any kind

POST CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Avoid any aerobic exercise or vigorous physical activity for the first 48 hours

  • Avoid hot showers and saunas for 24 hours

  • Use of sunscreen with SPF 30 or greater at all times for at least a week after your peel. It is recommended that you continue to use these products to help protect your skin and maintain the benefits of the peel even after your initial week

  • Avoid direct sun exposure. Too much sun exposure may cause improper healing and in some cases may reverse the benefits of the peel.

  • Treat the skin gently- DO NOT Exfoliate for 2 weeks- thought you may experience mildy red, dry, or flaking skin for several days or more after your peel.

  • Do not pick or pull at peeling skin. The dead will naturally slough off.

  • Avoid alpha- and beta-hydroxy acids products, retinoids, retinols and facial products containing fragrance for a few days after.

WHAT TO EXPECT POST TREATMENT:

  • Beginning on day 1, your skin may appear red. This will improve over several hours.

  • Your skin will feel slightly tight to very tight on day 2. By the end of day 2, your skin may begin to flake off. Sun damaged spots may turn darker prior to peeling.

  • On day 3, your skin may flake, peel and feel tight. You can use a hydrating cream throughout the day and should continue to reapply your SPF.

COMPLICATIONS:

  • If you feel like you are developing an adverse reaction of an infection, please call our office during business hours. If you are concerned about a serious reaction, seek immediate medical attention.
