How long does dermal filler last?
Dermal filler results are temporary, and how long they last varies depending on the product used, treatment area, amount injected and how your body responds. Your injector can discuss what to expect based on your personalized treatment plan.
When will I see my filler results?
You'll typically notice a change immediately after treatment, although swelling can temporarily affect how the area looks. Your results will continue to settle as swelling and tenderness decrease.
How much filler will I need?
The amount of filler needed varies based on the treatment area, your facial anatomy, previous treatments and desired result. Your injector will evaluate your goals and recommend an appropriate treatment plan rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.
Is there downtime after dermal or lip filler?
Most clients can return to many of their normal activities after treatment, but temporary swelling, bruising, redness or tenderness can occur. Your injector will provide specific aftercare instructions for your treatment.
Will my filler look natural?

What's the difference between filler and Sculptra?

Can filler be dissolved?
Many hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase when medically appropriate. Not every injectable product can be dissolved this way, including Sculptra, so your injector can explain the options associated with the specific product being used.
How do I know which filler is right for me?
You don't need to choose a brand or product before your appointment. Your injector will consider your facial anatomy, treatment area, goals and treatment history before recommending an injectable and treatment approach..

Proper preparation and aftercare can help support your dermal filler treatment and recovery. Please review the following instructions before and after your appointment. Your Celsius Med Spa STL provider may give you additional instructions based on your individual treatment.
Before Your Filler Appointment
7 Days Before Treatment
Avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements such as aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, fish oil, vitamin E, ginkgo biloba and St. John’s wort when medically appropriate, as these may increase the risk of bruising.
Do not discontinue any medication prescribed by your healthcare provider without their approval.
Avoid dental work, including routine cleanings, around the time of your filler appointment as directed by your injector.
If you have a history of cold sores, let your provider know before treatment, particularly if you are receiving injections around the lips or mouth.
24–48 Hours Before Treatment
Avoid alcohol before your appointment, as it may increase the likelihood of bruising.
Avoid treatments that may irritate the treatment area, including waxing, chemical peels or other aggressive skincare treatments.
Day of Treatment
Arrive with clean skin and minimal or no makeup in the treatment area when possible.
Tell your injector about any medications, supplements, allergies, recent procedures or changes to your medical history.
If you are experiencing an active infection, rash, cold sore or significant irritation near the planned treatment area, contact Celsius Med Spa STL before your appointment.
After Your Filler Appointment
Temporary redness, swelling, tenderness, firmness or bruising around the injection sites can occur following treatment.
Avoid rubbing, pressing or massaging the treated area unless specifically instructed to do so by your injector.
Avoid strenuous exercise, excessive heat and alcohol for the period recommended by your provider after treatment.
Follow your injector's instructions regarding makeup, skincare products and other facial treatments after your appointment.
Swelling can be more noticeable after lip filler and may temporarily affect the appearance of your results while the area settles.
Your provider will let you know when follow-up or additional treatment may be appropriate based on your individual treatment plan.

Contact Celsius Med Spa STL if you have questions or concerns about your recovery or experience symptoms that seem unusual following treatment.
Seek immediate medical attention for severe or worsening pain, significant skin color changes, vision changes, difficulty breathing, or other severe or rapidly developing symptoms after treatment.
